Cullera de Boix’ story begins in 2001 with Jordi Gabarrell, who decides to open our first restaurant at Ronda de Sant Pere in Barcelona (Urquinaona).
“I wanted to open a restaurant to continue with the old Catalan eateries tradition known as fondes (Inns), by offering homemade food and a rice dish on a daily menu, along with a good wine or beer and coffee”.
Fifteen years later, the idea has been a success and Cullera de Boix has become a Group with the opening of two more restaurants at the city centre located on Rambla Catalunya and Carrer Hospital.
Rice dishes are our specialty, always served to the point and made with seasonal produce. The rice comes from Molí de Rafelet, at Deltebre, and can be tasted every day on our daily lunch menu in our restaurants.
